Every Day is Chunk's Day

Well, I had another busy weekend. I went on a date with Baby Mac, but I kind of fell asleep in my stroller. I don't think she was too happy with me. We are meeting again tonight, so hopefully she'll forgive me. I was just riding along talking to her and the next thing I know I was sleeping. I'm not sure what happened.

On Saturday morning, I got to play outside while mommy and daddy worked on the yard. Daddy then had to leave for work and mommy, Riley and I packed up and went to grandma and grandpa's. Uncle Jack was there and we played and he even went swimming with me (well, kind of). Grandpa bought me a swing and I loved it. I wish mommy and daddy had one, but mommy said they don't have anywhere to hang it. She said she would take me to the park to swing since I liked it so much. After I was done playing Grams and Great G-Ma came over for dinner. Dinner was good, but no one would let me eat the brownies!

Sunday was mommy's day. In honor of her day, I got up extra early! Daddy made us French Toast and then we went to church. When we got there I didn't have to go to the nursery, I got to sit with mommy the whole time! After we got home mommy and daddy went back to working in the yard. I ate my lunch on the deck, but I was really quite tired from my long day on Saturday, so mommy and daddy switched off snuggling with me inside. After a few naps, I went outside to visit with our neighbors and I learned how to wave. Sometimes I look at my hand like who is making it do this, but hey- it's a work in progress.

Have a good week!

Chunk Behind the Wheel

Well, I've been trying to grab mommy's and daddy's keys for months now. This weekend they finally let me get behind the wheel and drive! Daddy wasn't too happy about the car color, and said 'no boy of his was driving a pink car!' Mommy kept asking me if I was selling Mary Kay? I didn't care about the color, I just wanted to drive! In the end mommy and daddy were laughing, so I think they forgot it was pink. I think I wore Papa Chicken out- I could of kept going for hours.

I had a fun weekend in Cleveland. We went up on Saturday to watch my cousin Austin play soccer. We then went back to his house where I continued to play with Austin and Paige. Later that night we went to Grandma Bonk's choir concert. I had fun on my Great Grandpa's lap. I was helping lead the choir and also helped a little on the background vocals. I don't know why Papa Chicken didn't put the spotlight on me. Uncle Ryan, Aunt Liza, Austin and Paige were there too and we all went for ice cream afterwards. I was the only one who didn't get to eat any ice cream, but I had a good time playing with my toys.

We spent the night at Grandma Bonk's and Papa Chicken's, and on Sunday I woke up to Papa's fun cakes! He made a chicken and a 'm' just for me. I didn't know about the taste at first, but daddy flung one on my plate and I took a big bite! After breakfast Grandma Bonk brought some toys up from the basement. I loved the dancing Elmo. I then showed them my rolling tricks. I just keep rolling, back to front, front to back. I got up on my hands and knees a few times and mommy said I may be crawling soon. Who needs to crawl when you can just roll? Grandma Bonk then brought out the car. It was so fun. I wish we had one of those at home. I let Grandpa Chicken relax for a few minutes and then he took me sledding on the grass. That was fun too, but there was no horn on the sled. Mommy and daddy then said we had to pack up and go home. I slept all the way home I was so worn out.
I got mail yesterday- a bag with my name on it! Mommy said it was from Aunt Nancy and Uncle Jeff. I don't a have a picture of it yet, but I'll put one up soon. I'm going to grandma's and grandpa's this weekend and I can't wait to load all my toys in my new bag to take with me. Mommy said grandma and grandpa might a have pool I can swim in on Saturday. I hope Riley and Raven don't try to swim with me.

Chunky Monkey & the Other Zoo Animals

I've been busy the past few days. First of all I came home from daycare on Wednesday with what mommy calls the gooky eye. She took me to the doctor Thursday morning and found out I had a double ear infection. I now have to drink medicine that mommy says smells like skittles. I don't know what those are, but I don't think it tastes like skittles- it doesn't taste very good. After we went to the doctor we met daddy for lunch. I tried to grab a handful of fries, but he said 'no fries for little boys.' Mommy stayed home with me the rest of the day and she stayed home again on Friday too. We went to the baby store and I got a few new toys and a new Elmo book! When we got home, I figured I would be nice and try to help mommy with the laundry.

On Saturday mommy and I met 'Aunt Cheryl' and Baby Mac at the zoo! We had fun. I got to see a lot of monkeys and some tigers, rhinos and bears (well, I slept through the bears). Mommy said we were now members so we can go anytime we want. Daddy said he wants to go see the sea cows. I didn't know there were cows at the zoo?

After we got home from the zoo, we took a little break and then loaded up to go see daddy at the Crew game. It was my first soccer game and I had fun. I really liked the flags blowing in the wind- I can now see why all the people come to the games. I was a little tired after a long day, so mommy and I left early to beat the rain. It's a good thing too, as soon as we got into the car it started pouring. I decided to let mommy know just how tired I was and screamed all the way home!

On Sunday, mommy and daddy were trying to get some yard work done, but I wanted all of their attention. I don't think they got too much done. Uncle Jack stopped by for a visit and brought me a Cincinnati Reds hat! Mommy really liked it but daddy kept trying to hide it. I already had my Bengals shirt on, so I was ready to roll!
'Aunt Cheryl' told mommy to put some stuff on my head to help my dry scalp. It made my hair really greasy, so I decided to try a spike look. Good thing I got a bath last night.

This weekend I'm heading up to Cleveland to watch my cousin Austin play soccer and to watch Grandma Bonk sing in a choir concert. I wonder if they need any background vocals....?

Have a good week.

Floating Chunk

OK, so chunk doesn't really float, but I had fun in my new pool last weekend. The weather was finally nice. I got to wear shorts and even went to church without socks on! When we got home, mommy set up my pool and brought out my bath toys and I had fun splashing around. Daddy and I even splashed and squirted mommy a few times. Riley didn't care too much about the pool until she realized there were toys. Mommy then spent a lot of time chasing and retrieving my toys for me. I hope Mackenzie and maybe some of my cousins can come swim with me this summer.

Chunk Stats

Well, I turned 6 months old yesterday. Mommy kept saying she couldn't believe it. It was a pretty good day, except for the shots at the doctors office. I got over it pretty quick though and went back to play with my friends at daycare. I weighed in at just over 19 pounds and measured 28 inches long.

Since my last post I've learned how to sit up on my own and I cut another tooth. I started fruits last night- bananas. I didn't like them as much as my carrots. It looks like I'm going to be more like my daddy and like veggies and not like mommy who likes anything sweet. The doctor said I can try finger food and start with a sippy cup. I don't really know what finger food is, I always have food on my hands when eating and try to put it in my mouth, but I guess it is something different than that. Mommy put a sippy cup on my tray last night. I'm not really sure what it is for, other than to grab hold of and bang it to make noise, or drop it on the floor and watch mommy pick it up. I must admit dropping things and watching someone pick them up is my new favorite game.

The weather has been really nice the past couple days, so we've been out taking walks. I even ate my dinner on the deck the other night. My best friend Riley really likes to be around me during dinner time....

Papa Chicken and Grandma Bonk came to visit last weekend and brought my Easter basket. I got an Easter Chicken! It plays the chicken dance music and dances. Now I have someone to do the chicken dance with whenever I want! Thanks PC & GB. Afterwards mommy took me to BW3 to be with daddy while he had to work for the Crew game. What a great place- there are TVs everywhere!
I've graduated to taking my baths in the big tub. We tried taking my infant bath tub and converting it to a seat, but that didn't work out so well. Now I just sit in the big tub with mommy or daddy holding me. It's great- I can splash and kick as much as I want and the toys....I love playing with all my bath toys and there is a lot more room in the big tub. I was supposed to get a bath last night since Grandma and Grandpa are coming to visit tonight, but I wormed my out of it. It was a long day and I was tired.

Have a good weekend everybody and Happy Birthday Uncle Seth!

Chunk for the Bucks

Ok, so I know it's been a long time, since I've been on here and a lot has happened....

First of all, I got Baptized! The big event took place a few weeks ago. I was a little shocked when the water hit my head, but I slept through the rest of the service, so I must not have been too stressed out. Besides, I had to rest up for the big party that followed. A lot of friends and family came to share in my special day and I had fun playing with my cousins and visiting with everyone.

Since then, I've had a few dates with my girl Mackenzie, but she is usually sleeping when we get together, maybe I should be reading more into her behavior.....

I've moved on from cereal and am now eating vegetables. I started with carrots, not really my favorite, and have since tried squash and sweet potatoes. Next, I get green vegetables! I've heard mommy and daddy will really enjoy the presents I make for them once I move to the greens.

For the past month, mommy and daddy have been yelling at the tv and making me wear my Buckeye hat on Thursdays and Saturdays. I finally found out why- They were cheering for Bucks. Last Wednesday mommy had to go far away to Atlanta. Early Friday morning, daddy got me up and ready as usual, but instead of going to daycare, we went to the airport and I got on a plane! We flew down to see mommy! While I was there, my tooth finally came in. It wasn't too bad, I just like to bite on everything. However, mommy and daddy won't let me chew on their fingers any more. Just when I thought we were having fun, Daddy took me to a big building called the Georgia Dome and we got to watch the Final Four. Mommy joined us when she was done working and we had a blast. The Buckeyes won and Daddy told me we would get to come back for the Championship game. In the meantime we visited lots of places in Atlanta and I learned how to say my first word- 'da da' I say this to mommy all the time, and she tries to get me to say something else. I just laugh and continue- da da, da da, da da.....

In the end the Buckeyes couldn't pull out the final game, not even my lucky hat could help them this time. I think they were just too tired. I know I was! All in all it was a fun trip- I made my first flight and saw my first basketball game, what more could a little chunk ask for.

Happy Easter everyone!

Count Chunk-ula

Well, I finally started cereal. I don't know why everyone was making a big fuss about it. I thought it was like eating my bottle from a spoon. I can't figure out the spoon thing- are you supposed to suck it, chomp it or what? And it takes way too much time to reload- I'd take my bottle any day. However, I am starting to get used to it and the swallowing thing. Mommy and daddy have made my cereal a little thicker lately, so I've had to do a little more work. Daddy keeps saying vegetables are next. I get the feeling mommy doesn't like vegetables too well, so I'm not sure if I want to try them or not.

Sunday is my big day- I get baptized. I watched (or slept through) Mackenzie getting baptized and it didn't seem too bad. Then again I am rarely happy during church so we'll see. A lot of friends and family are coming to visit, so it should be fun.
