Chunk's Surgery

I went to a lot of doctors last week. On Monday I went to the pediatrician to have my ears re-checked. They were both infected again, so she told mommy and daddy to take me to the Ear, Nose and Throat doctor. The ENT was really nice. I held still while he looked in my ears and even opened my mouth on cue when he wanted to look in. He said my ears were pretty bad and wanted to do ear tube surgery the next day. Mommy and daddy scheduled it and then mommy had to take me to a hearing test. I did really good. When I would look towards the sound a toy played for me. When we were done, she told mommy I had mild to moderate hearing loss on almost every sound. The next morning we went really early to the surgery center. The nurse gave me some grape medicine that put me in slow motion then I went back for the procedure. It didn't take very long and mommy and daddy were able to come see me 20 minutes later. I never knew people could hear so good. On Friday I sat for 10 minutes just listening to myself clap. I think the surgery also helped my balance, as I started crawling and pulling myself up on Saturday. My ears still bother me a little and I don't like having the drops put in, but I'm sure I'll feel better in no time. My girlfriend brought me over a care package to help me feel better and I love my new toys.

Despite all the doctors last week, mommy was off and we managed to squeeze in some fun things. Last Sunday I went to the zoo with my cousin Mya. On Monday mommy took me to story time at the library. On Tuesday we went to the zoo again with mommy's friend and her kids. Mommy got her new car on Wednesday. After my hearing test on Thursday, we went to visit daddy at work. Later that night, Cousin Meg came by to visit. We all wished her Happy Birthday. On Saturday, Uncle Jack came over. On Sunday Cousin Meg came to show us her new car and Grandma and Grandpa stopped by on their way home. In the end I was very tired and went to bed at 6:30.

Mason,
Your cousin, Julia had her wisdom teeth taken out last Monday, so she understands what you went through with surgery. She has a dry socket, but is getting better. I bet you feel a lot better already!
I loved your zoo pictures!

Mason,
I'm glad you are feeling better! You'll have to teach me to crawl on Wednesday! I'll see you tonight!
